Corneal damage can also be caused by the following:

injuries, diseases or infections. Thus they can bring about severe damage on the cornea, hence result in scars that may block natural entry of light into the eye. This interaction with light causes errors in an individual’s vision. Corneal implants correct for these errors either by bending light to adjust for the eye’s irregularities or by adjusting the curvature of the eye itself.

One cause of cornel implant is the Fuchs corneal dystrophy; this is a frequent state that leads to swelling in the cornea. Another one is the Keratoconus; it is where by the cornea turn out to be deformed. Surgeries also cause corneal implants e.g. the cataract surgery; they cause scars, i.e. infections, burns and cuts. Finally these corneal implants can also be caused by eye diseases.

There are numerous reasons as to why a person would require a corneal transplant; the Keratoconus are the regular ones are . These can bring about snow like vision inside the eye. This usually changes the normal bending of the cornea. It also minimizes the excellence of the vision, other than these health situation, these are a small outline of other proof for corneal transplants .i.e. Chemical Burns,,Fungi and Protozoa, and Bacteria.

A small percentage of corneal transplants is rejected by the body, The symptoms that come up after a corneal transplant showing rejection by the body include; Redness in eyes, Sensitivity to light, discomfort in the eyes and change in the vision.

Corneal implants are cost-effective activities that need cornea repair. Chronic pain to the eye can give rise to the elimination of corneal tissue; it will require to be replaced with a tissue from another different donor. The complete treatment of this transplant is not cheap. The patient’s body may not accept the donors tissue thus causing complications. Artificially-created corneal implants can be used to replace these rejected tissues.
