Remember to use a different compress for each eye as the infection can be spread. When you clean your eyes, do it from the inside going to the outward direction. After doing so, make sure you throw the tissue used or if you used cloth, make sure you put it directly to the laundry so no one uses it right after. Wash your hands properly after cleaning.

Blepharitis is also another eye irritation caused by the clogging of the oil glands which results to the inflammation of the eyelids. The common symptoms of blepharitis include red and crusty eyelids and these can be noticed upon waking up in the morning. The best eye remedies for this condition includes improved eye hygiene. You can also apply warm compress on your eyes to loosen the crusty parts of your eyelids. Use a cloth moistened with water and add a few drops of baby shampoo to wash away the oily scales on the eyelids. After doing this, rinse your eyes gently with warm water and pat with a clean and dry towel.
Sties are also considered common eye irritation. A sty is a small bump on the eyelids which is caused by the clogging and swelling of the glands around the eyelids. It appears like a small pimple and can be annoyingly painful. Its symptoms include redness, swelling, pain, and in some cases blurry vision, and teary eyes. A sty will naturally heal after a week, but to give remedy to it, you can use a warm compress for about 10 to 15 minutes. This can be done 4 times a day.

Dry eye syndrome is characterized by the dry, stinging, and scratchy sensation felt in the eyes. This is caused  by the inability of the tear glands to produce ample quantity of tears. Dry eyes can be remedied by using artificial tears that can be bought over the counter. Drinking eight glasses of water daily and protecting your eyes from direct sunlight can also prevent having this eye condition.
